how do love and care flow in labor? I ask myself this so often while attending a birth. How can I communicate the awe, wonder, and Love I am feeling for this parent as they continue on their journey to self-realization and parenthood without saying a single word? I might hold their back, hands, or hips. I might pour water over them or hold a washcloth to their forehead. I might remind their partner to give them a sip of water. I might wipe away their tears.

touch, presence, soft words, water, and intention. fluidity, power, surrender, and flow.

This image captures the fullness of the moment, the connection we have to one another, the connection to water (fluid, blood, womb, flexibility, power), and the surrender that comes with each wave.
